Ingredients
  

Banana Bread:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup sour cream
  • 4 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
Salted Caramel Glaze:
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Small saucepan

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream brown sugar and butter. Add eggs, sour cream, mashed bananas, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Bake for 55–60 minutes, then let cool.
  6. Make the glaze by boiling brown sugar and butter. Stir in cream, then powdered sugar and salt.
  7. Pour glaze over the cooled bread.

Notes

  • For added texture, mix in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
  • Glaze can be made in advance and reheated before use.
